Parking at Hamilton airport (YHM) costs as low as $20 a day with YHM Fixed, $25 with YHM Flex and $33 drive-up. The table below turns those daily rates into totals for 3, 7 and 14 days and sets a private round trip beside them. The sections after it cover booking, paying, the lot and ways to skip parking.

Option 3 days 7 days 14 days
YHM Fixed $60 $140 $280
YHM Flex $75 $175 $350
Drive-up $99 $231 $462

Hamilton airport parking rates

The airport sells three kinds of parking at YHM. We read the rates on its parking page on October 29, 2026.

  • YHM Fixed: as low as $20 a day, booked online in advance.
  • YHM Flex: as low as $25 a day, booked online in advance.
  • Drive-up: $33 a day, no reservation needed.

Watch the words “as low as”: the airport applies its minimum rates to reservations booked at least 28 days in advance, subject to availability.

No price is given for a reservation made inside that window. Look up your own dates on the booking page before you plan around the lowest figure.

The totals in the table use the lowest rate for each reservation product, so a later booking may cost more. The pages we read quote daily rates only, so check at checkout whether tax is added to your parking total.

HST and a 15 to 20% gratuity are added on top of the ride row.

How much is parking at Hamilton airport?

The answer depends on your product and your dates. Count your stay in 24-hour periods rather than calendar days, because the drive-up daily maximum of $33.00 is applied consecutively per 24-hour period.

The airport lists no lower drive-up rate for a long stay.

Reservations carry a minimum duration of 24 hours, according to the airport’s parking FAQ. A shorter stay cannot be reserved.

Where parking stops being cheaper than a ride is worked out further down, in the section on parking or a taxi.

Is there free parking at Hamilton airport?

The parking page lists three products, and each one carries a rate. We found no free option on it.

For a firm answer, write to [email protected], the address the airport lists for parking inquiries.

The only way to pay nothing for parking is to leave the car at home, which the last section covers.

Cheapest place to park at Hamilton airport

On the airport’s own rates, the cheapest place to park is YHM Fixed at as low as $20 a day. Drive-up is the dearest of the three, and $13 a day separates it from Fixed.

Parkopedia, a third-party listing, shows the Hamilton International Airport Lot with 1900 spots at C$33 all day, 24 hours. That matches the drive-up rate. Third-party listings can lag the airport, so check the operator before you travel.

Some third-party listings also name private lots away from the airport with their own shuttles. We could not confirm which of them operate today, so this article prices none of them.

Is it cheaper to book Hamilton airport parking online?

Yes. The airport says booking online saves up to 40% with YHM Fixed and up to 25% with YHM Flex compared with drive-up rates. Its daily figures agree: $20 and $25 against $33.

The comparison is not always so simple. A reservation has a minimum length, so for a stop of a few hours, price the drive-up short-stay charges against a full day first.

Is airport parking cheaper the later you book?

No evidence on the airport’s pages says so. They tie the lowest rates to booking early and state no price drop for last-minute bookings.

The one hard cut-off is time. Reservations must be made at least 4 hours before arrival. Inside that window you take a ticket at the lot entrance like any drive-up customer.

Between early booking and that cut-off, the page states no separate price, so price your own dates:

  1. Open the booking page and enter your dates.
  2. Note the total it shows for each product.
  3. Compare each total with the drive-up daily rate multiplied by your days.

How to book Hamilton airport parking online

Booking runs through the airport’s parking page. Have your dates ready, an email address you can open straight away, and a way to pay.

  • Choose your dates and a product: YHM Fixed or YHM Flex.
  • Log in to your parking account. It uses a single-use 6-digit one-time passcode sent by email instead of a password.
  • Pay for the booking. The confirmation and tax receipt are emailed immediately after purchase.
  • Keep the QR code from the confirmation for the gate.

Save the confirmation to your phone before you leave home. The QR code is scanned on entry and again on exit, and the scanner light turns from red to green as the gate opens.

If you lose the code or need to amend the booking, use the Manage my Booking portal. If you stay longer than booked, a charge displays at the exit and must be paid by debit or credit card before the gate opens.

Is there a parking discount code for Hamilton Airport?

We found no promo or discount code published by the airport. The saving it does publish comes from booking early online, not from a code.

Booking early is what unlocks the lowest rates. For a 7-day trip that is the difference between $231 at the drive-up rate and as low as $140 with YHM Fixed, a saving of $91.

Coupon sites that list Hamilton airport codes are not the airport, and we could not match any of their codes to the airport’s booking page. If a code is offered at checkout, the total on that page is the price that counts.

YHM Fixed vs YHM Flex vs drive-up parking

The three products differ less in daily price than in what happens when your plans change.

Product If plans change
YHM Fixed Non-refundable and non-changeable
YHM Flex Fully flexible up to 24 hours before entry
Drive-up No booking to change

Flex costs $5 a day more than Fixed, which is $35 more over a week. That extra is the price of being able to change the booking.

Fixed suits dates that are certain. Flex suits dates that might move, as long as any change lands before the 24-hour cut-off. Drive-up suits a return you cannot name yet.

Hamilton airport drive-up parking rates and how to pay

Drive-up needs no reservation. The rate for 0 to 30 minutes is $5.00, and the hourly maximum is $10.00.

On arrival, press the button at the entrance ticket dispenser and keep the ticket. Before you leave, insert it into a pay station in the terminal or at the exit gate.

Pay stations in the terminal accept cash, debit or credit. Those at the exit gates, and the outdoor kiosk beside them, accept debit or credit only.

If you carry only cash, pay at a terminal station before you walk to your vehicle. Keep the ticket with you until you pay.

Is it cheaper to park or take a taxi to Hamilton airport?

For a short trip, parking is cheaper. For a long one, a ride wins, because a round trip costs the same whether you are away for 3 days or 3 weeks.

Our sedan from the Hamilton area to YHM is from approximately $70 each way, plus HST and gratuity, so a round trip is from approximately $140 before tax and tip.

Parking product Daily rate Parking passes our base fare on
Drive-up $33 Day 5
YHM Flex as low as $25 Day 6
YHM Fixed as low as $20 Day 8

Our fare is before HST and gratuity, and the parking figures are the airport’s published daily rates, so check both against your own dates. A family or group changes the sum again: the 6-seat van from the Hamilton area is from approximately $80 each way, plus HST and gratuity, and every passenger rides for that one fare.

How to avoid expensive airport parking

The cheapest parking bill is the one you never run up. We read the airport’s transportation page on October 19, 2026 for the options below.

Public transit

The HSR A-Line Express (Route 20) connects the airport to downtown Hamilton, the Hamilton GO Transit Centre and Mohawk College (Fennell Campus). We found no published fare or schedule, so call HSR on 905-527-4441.

Taxi and rideshare

Taxi pick-up and drop-off zones are directly outside the Arrivals doors along the curb. The airport lists 525 Blue (905-525-0000) and Hamilton Cab (905-777-7777, toll free 1-877-525-2500).

Lyft and Uber use the west end of the sidewalk, after the taxi zone.

A private ride from the Hamilton area

A driver picks you up at home and drops you at the terminal, any hour of the day or night. The cost against parking is set out in the section above.

You can book online, and our terms and conditions apply to every booking. Questions go through our contact page, and our Hamilton car service page covers the rest of our local rides.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a child seat cost on a ride to Hamilton airport?

A child seat is from approximately $25, plus HST and gratuity, and an extra stop is from approximately $30, plus HST and gratuity. For a group or a family, the 6-seat van is from approximately $80, plus HST and gratuity one way from the Hamilton area to YHM. Tell us the passengers and seats needed when you book.

Can I book a ride to Hamilton airport at night or on a weekend?

Yes. Rides run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so an early flight or a late return does not limit when you can book. Call (905) 633-5804 or use the online booking page. Have your flight date, pickup address and number of passengers ready before you call, so the booking is quick.

Can I rent a car at Hamilton airport instead of parking mine?

Yes. Four car rental companies are on site: Avis, National, Budget and Enterprise, with counters in the Arrivals area next to the exit. The airport asks you to book before arriving. A rental suits a trip where you need a car at the other end, while a ride suits a trip where you only need to reach the terminal. If you only need to reach the terminal, book a ride online or call (905) 633-5804.

Is there a scheduled shuttle from Hamilton airport?

No. Shuttle and limo service from the airport is not regularly scheduled and must be pre-arranged directly with the provider. The airport lists AA Limo Niagara, King Shuttle, Niagara Airbus and Red Car Service. We do not quote their fares. If you want a ride booked ahead from your door instead, our sedan from the Hamilton area is from approximately $70 one way, plus HST and gratuity: book online or call (905) 633-5804.

Is there accessible transport from Hamilton airport?

Yes, accessible transportation options include vehicles equipped for non-folding or non-collapsible mobility aids. They must be pre-arranged with the provider. If you can move from your chair to a car seat, book with us and tell us about the mobility aid when you book. For a chair that does not fold, a provider with an equipped vehicle is the right choice.
